High Court building Sketch

High Court building is one of the memorable red building structures in Chennai which has a remarkable place of identity to visitors of Chennai from around the World.Architecture place a vital role in the Art and Culture of the country and this High Court building stands as the beauty of Chennai.It is one of the major artifact of Tamil Nadu.High Court was constructed under the guidance of  architect Henry Irwin in 1892.This structural construction was called as Indo Saracenic style.It is one of the main land mark in Parry's Corner in Chennai,Tamil Nadu, India.

Adoor Gopalakrishnan

Adoor Gopalakrishnan is a familiar face on international film circuit.The director was in the city recently for the screening of his movie "Mathilukal" at the second international convention of SPIC MACAY  at IIT-Madras and he interacted with the audience after screening.Last year, the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee established "The Adoor Gopalakrishnan Archive and Research Fund" to study the director's works.Adoor is the recipient of the Padma Shri,Padma Vibhushan and Dada Saheb Phalke Award.Adoor has scripted and directed 11 feature films and more than 30 short films and documentaries.Adoor's debut film,the national award winning Swayamvaram(1972) was a milestone in malayalam film history.I was impressed by the works of the film maker and made a portrait in watercolour which was presented here.

 Elango’s chitram is a blog created to write, draw and design about the nuances in art and literature, to share our environmental scenario of our surrounding. Being an artist I want to share my experiences in art and literature through my aesthetic perception of the society. History and theory of art are two important perceptions required today to see the world. Today we are living in a digital virtual era, everything became visually challenging for us, a day passes today for us with newspapers in the morning, television programmes for 24 hours, various day today instant proceedings through android mobile applications, laptop usage etc., Visual communication became more popular for a common man. As a media studies professor I want to share and experience my thoughts and views through this blog.
